An end-grain working surface, defined block by block
An end-grain cutting board presents the ends of the wood fibres at the cutting surface. Blocks are assembled into the finished board rather than showing only long, continuous grain across the top. This is the construction buyers commonly mean when sourcing a butcher-block cutting board.
Specify the wood, block arrangement and accepted natural variation. Acacia blocks can create a visibly contrasting pattern; sample approval should establish the overall appearance and joint layout. End-grain construction alone does not define the board size, thickness, finish or inspection standard.
Rectangular catalogue sizes for a coordinated range
Our rectangular acacia end-grain boards are offered in the dimensions below. All measurements are length × width × finished thickness in centimetres. The catalogue MOQ is 1,000 pieces per size; final material, features and packing are confirmed in the quotation.
| Length | Width | Thickness |
|---|---|---|
| 30 cm | 20 cm | 2 cm |
| 30 cm | 20 cm | 2.5 cm |
| 35 cm | 25 cm | 2.5 cm |
| 35 cm | 25 cm | 3.8 cm |
| 40 cm | 28 cm | 2.5 cm |
| 40 cm | 28 cm | 3.8 cm |
The same catalogue family also includes teak and round options. Discuss those through our end-grain collection; this page focuses on rectangular acacia boards. Custom dimensions require a separate feasibility and price review.

Juice grooves, side grips and logo placement
A routed juice groove, side grips or feet change the machining and usable thickness. Show their dimensions and position in the drawing. A thicker board gives a different handling experience and finished weight from a thinner board of the same length and width.
Agree a food-safe oil finish for the intended use and any destination-specific documentation required for the finished article. Laser engraving, a care card, retail packaging and master-carton configuration can be reviewed together. Read the sizes and thickness guide before comparing quotes across different constructions.
Approve the joints and the reference sample
Inspect block alignment, joint appearance, flatness, finished dimensions, edge smoothness and the routed features against a common reference. Record the agreed moisture target and inspection method for the selected material, destination and packing approach.
End-grain manufacturing involves additional cutting, block assembly, gluing and surfacing. This affects material use, labour and price, so compare the same finished specification when assessing suppliers. Our end-grain versus edge-grain guide explains the distinction without treating every glued board as the same construction.
Plan the sample, pack and repeat order
Specify acacia end-grain cutting boards and your chosen dimensions in your inquiry. Add the quantity per size, block-pattern reference, groove or grip drawing, logo file, packaging brief and destination. Approve the sample and artwork before scheduling bulk production.
Retain the approved sample, drawing revision, finish specification and packaging files for repeat orders. Include wooden cutting board care instructions with your private-label range so buyers understand washing, drying and re-oiling.
Before you request a quotation.
Are these boards made from one piece of acacia?
No. The end-grain working surface is assembled from blocks with the fibre ends facing up. A single-piece or edge-glued long-grain board is a different construction.
Does the 500-piece standard MOQ apply here?
The current catalogue lists 1,000 pieces per size for these end-grain boards. Use the item-specific MOQ and the final quotation for this program.
Can you make round end-grain boards?
Our end-grain cutting board range includes round options at Ø 30 × 2.5 cm and Ø 30 × 3.8 cm. Request the proposed material, sample and current production photography for that shape before approval.
