Choose the retail-pack format for your sales channel
A paper sleeve keeps much of the board visible and provides space for branding and care information. A kraft box gives a more enclosed presentation. A printed gift box and insert can support a gifting range with a more controlled product arrangement.
| Pack option | What to define | Buyer decision |
|---|---|---|
| Paper sleeve | Board coverage, fit, artwork and label position | Visibility of the wood and protection during handling |
| Kraft box | Box dimensions, structure, printing and insert | Presentation, movement inside the box and carton packing |
| Printed gift box | Graphics, finish, opening and internal support | Gifting presentation, setup cost and print minimum |
| Care insert & labels | Language, product information, barcode and placement | Instructions and identification for the destination channel |
The photographed boards on this page show product references. Packaging format, artwork and protection are developed and approved separately for the quoted program.
Prepare artwork for laser-engraved cutting boards
Supply a vector logo where possible, with the required width, height and position. Show whether the mark belongs on the working face, reverse face, handle or another area. Keep the placement clear of grooves, grip recesses and the intended retail-pack coverage.
Wood grain and colour affect engraving contrast. A sample establishes the actual appearance and helps evaluate fine lines, small text and positioning. Confirm each engraving position and artwork version in the quotation; cost depends on the mark and the project scope.
Protect surfaces, corners and handles
The pack should hold the board in its intended position without avoidable rubbing or loose movement. Review the groove, corners and projecting handles when selecting wrapping and inserts. A thick end-grain board places different demands on its pack from a compact paddle board.
Confirm when the board is ready for packing and how the agreed finish, storage conditions and shipment route influence the packing approach. Include any requested transport test and acceptance criteria before approving the pack design.
Approve care text, barcode labels and SKU identity
A useful care card explains washing, drying and re-oiling for the selected finish. Product information should match the wood, construction and intended use. Prepare the language and layout needed for your destination market and leave the agreed space for identification labels.
For e-commerce programs, provide the required barcode or FNSKU artwork and placement instructions. Define whether a set is one retail unit and how its components are identified. Our Amazon FBA and private-label sourcing guide covers the complete packaged-unit brief.
Confirm master-carton dimensions and pack-out
Record the number of retail units per carton, carton dimensions, net and gross weight, markings and any internal protection. These details support freight planning and help buyers compare the same shipment scope.
Printed packaging may have a minimum quantity separate from the board's MOQ. Ask for packaging setup, printing and unit costs to be identified where useful. A change in box size or insert can affect carton arrangement, shipment volume and the final cost.
Approve one complete retail unit
Before bulk packing, review the board, engraving, sleeve or box, insert, care information and labels as one reference. Retain approved artwork and the pack specification with the product drawing.
Send your preferred sales channel, board specification, quantity, artwork and destination through the wholesale RFQ form. The written quotation confirms the agreed packaging and marking scope for the order.
Before you request a quotation.
Does custom packaging have its own MOQ?
It can. Print setup, box structure and supplier minimums may create a practical MOQ above the board minimum. Confirm the selected pack and order quantity together.
Can you engrave a small logo on the board?
Send vector artwork, dimensions and the preferred position. Review fine details and contrast on the sample before approving the mark for bulk production.
Can we supply our own care-card and barcode files?
Yes. Include the final artwork, language, size and label-placement instructions in the packaging brief, and approve them with the complete retail unit.
